Our Leadership Team

Patrick McCarthy, President

Pat McCarthy joined PSI in July, 2013 as the Director of Operations. He was promoted to President in May, 2018. Prior to joining PSI, Mr. McCarthy was the Vice President of Operations at Pet Partners, a veterinary practice consolidator. He oversaw the purchasing department, was responsible for the implementation of operational efficiencies and reducing expenses. He also led staff training and development. Before joining Pet Partners, Mr. McCarthy was the Sr. Manager of Corporate/Strategic Accounts at IDEXX Laboratories. Pat led a team who was responsible for the sales, marketing, finance, education and implementation of IDEXX’s complete portfolio of products and services for corporate and strategic account customers in North America.

Previously, Mr. McCarthy worked in the chemical industry for Buckman Laboratories, a Memphis-based, global chemical company. He held several roles and was promoted to Regional Manager for the Northeast where he oversaw the sales and technical support for a team of 20 before he had a career change and joined IDEXX Laboratories. Pat holds a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Lycoming College, an MS in environmental studies from Duke University, and an MBA from the University at Albany, NY.

Pat lives in St. Petersburg, FL and is married with three children. His hobbies include fitness, music, sports, traveling and all things outdoors.

Dan Jones, DVM, Director of Business Development

Dr. Jones is a Veterinarian who has been an independent veterinary practice owner for more than 30 years. He owned and operated two general medicine practices from 1987 through 1999, and he owned an emergency specialty practice from 1992 until 2019. Dr. Jones is currently the Director of Operations and Business Development for PSIvet and has held that position for the last seven years. His main responsibility at PSIvet is managing vendor contracts and relationships Dan’s background includes 13 years with Banfield in numerous positions from practicing veterinarian to Vice President of Medical Leadership.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1980 and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 from Auburn University.

Dan’s hobbies are golf, fishing and travel. His wife Cassie is a respiratory therapist in a neonatal intensive care unit. Together, they have two adult daughters Angela and Kelly, and two granddaughters, Acacia and Margo.

Patricia McNamara, DVM, Director of Membership Services

Dr. McNamara has been with Purchasing Services since 2000. She oversees PSI’s network of Area Managers, visits member practices and is responsible for all sales analytics.

She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University SVM, after completed her Senior Rotation at Louisiana State University SVM. Her background includes working in a feline exclusive practice, a small animal/exotics practice and she held an internship at the Houston Zoo. Dr. McNamara’s business background comes from growing up in very successful restaurants and a hotel. She went on to work for a large restaurant corporation while completing her undergraduate degree, where she won awards for inventory control.

Dr. McNamara is published in the Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine: Myelogenous Leukemia in a Bearded Dragon (Acanthodraco vitticeps). She is a member of the AVMA, FVMA, AQHA and ADGA. While Dr. McNamara is away from home, her Quarter Horses and LaMancha goats enjoy her 10-acre, lake front farm.

Jim Ladd, Director of Marketing

Jim joined PSIvet in August, 2018 as the Director of Marketing. His primary role is to oversee all marketing and communication functions within the organization. Jim has expertise in business vision, strategic planning, brand development and digital campaigns that motivate audiences. Prior to joining PSIvet, Jim was the Vice President of Corporate marketing at Vetstreet. Jim led Vetstreets marketing team through 6 years of tremendous growth resulting in 2 acquisitions by VCA Antech in 2011 and Henry Schein Animal Health in 2016.

Previously, Jim worked on the advertising agency side of the business and has worked with local, regional and global companies spanning a wide range of industries. Ever the entrepreneur, Jim looks for opportunities to help build things. Whether its developing brands, promoting companies or enhancing campaigns, he continuously strives to bring new ideas to life.

Jim currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida and is married 35 years with three adult children. He still maintains a home in New Jersey and has deep family roots there. In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, riding his motorcycle or relaxing on his boat.

Diana Lally, Controller

Dianna Lally, CPA, Controller – Ms. Lally is a licensed CPA in California and Hawaii, and joined PSI in 2017. She oversees the Accounting department and Administrative staff in the Corporate Office.

Prior to joining PSI, Ms. Lally held Controllership positions, where she was involved with acquisitions, cash management, sale of divisions of business entities, restructuring, multiple software conversions, establishment and/or documentation of policies and procedures, and internal and external reporting and consolidations, budgeting and forecasting. She has experience in a wide variety of industries, including, but not limited to: small business, construction, real estate, non-profit, manufacturing, passenger vehicle and heavy equipment dealerships, high-tech, distribution, agriculture and bio-science. Dianna has worked with a combination of closely held and publicly held entities.

Ms. Lally holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton and is an an alumnus of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Los Angeles and Orange County California offices. She belongs to the AICPA, Florida Institute of CPA’s and the California Society of CPA’s.

When not working, Ms. Lally enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, shelling on the beach, and officiating at age group swim meets.
